Terms and software license

A straightforward license.

Last updated October 1, 2026

These terms apply to your use of MixBar. The seller identified on your Stripe checkout receipt is responsible for the purchase transaction. By installing or using MixBar, you agree to these terms.

License

An active subscription grants one person a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use MixBar on that person’s personal Macs and receive updates. You may cancel at any time; access continues through the paid billing period.

Billing and cancellation

MixBar renews monthly at $5 USD before applicable taxes until canceled. You can cancel through Stripe’s customer portal or by contacting support. Cancellation stops future renewals and does not shorten the period already paid for.

Restrictions

You may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, or provide MixBar as a hosted service. You may not bypass license controls or reverse engineer the app except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Requirements and browser support

MixBar requires macOS 14.2 or later. Chrome and Opera tab control requires the MixBar companion extension and explicit capture of each controlled tab. Safari tab control requires enabling the bundled Safari extension and works with standard HTML audio and video; some protected, embedded, or Web Audio content may only be controllable at the application level. Firefox is supported at the application level.

Updates and changes

Updates may change or remove functionality when required for compatibility, security, or reliability. MixBar depends on macOS and browser capabilities that Apple and browser vendors may change.

Warranty and consumer rights

MixBar is provided with the rights and remedies required by applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes statutory consumer protections that cannot legally be excluded. Except for those protections, MixBar is provided “as is” without additional warranties.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss is excluded. Any remaining aggregate liability is limited to the amount paid for MixBar. These limits do not apply where applicable law does not allow them.

Termination

The license ends when the subscription expires or if you materially breach these terms. When it ends, you must stop using and remove MixBar. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination remain effective.
